Journal, page 6 – Bull-Frog

Another wacky critter, the bog-dwelling bull-frog. The burning question is, will it ribbit or moo?

In chapter 4 news, the first draft of the page-by-page script is done! That’s the one with all the panels and dialog in, ready for drawing. Unfortunately the page count is 35, so I need to stick another page in someplace. Fortunately, it’s much easier to add pages than subtract. I’ll post the script up soon, maybe my Roza readers will have some suggestions?

Also, it’s the last day for pre-ordering signed copies of Chapter 3! The full details are a couple posts down.

Torrean

Journal, page 5 – Torrean

I’m still not set on this character’s design. His hair was changed for the color version, and now I like the old one better! Maybe I’ll change his tattoos again, too. I’m so picky :P
He’s 16 years old, from the Talit tribe- the same as Leith, hence the facial tattoos.

Good news! The proofs are back and the Chapter 3 book is good to go. I’ll be doing things a bit differently this time, as far as printing and fulfillment.

As you may know, Lulu handles the first two books as Print on Demand (POD). Lulu gets the order, prints the book, and mails it out. This is good for me, I don’t have to print up and manage inventory, shipping, customer service, but the end result is a more expensive book. Also, Lulu is not ideal for comics, they’re geared toward b/w print or artbooks and don’t handle normal comic formats.

For this book, I’m using comic-specialist printer Ka-Blam. The books look beautiful, they’re not as big as the Lulu books but the price is much nicer! I can print up inventory to sell directly, or sell through their POD website IndyPlanet. Since this latest chapter is made in a standard comic format, it all works out swell.

So here’s the good stuff!
I’d like to offer fans a chance to get their very own copy of ‘Roza and the Sparrow Knight’ signed and lovingly adorned by myself. If you’re interested in such a thing, and have $8 USD (plus s/h) to part with, then make use of the lovely Paypal button below. I’ll take preorders for the next two weeks, and books will be shipped once the order arrives and is duly customized. Chances are there won’t be many extras, so try to get your order in by March 16.

EDIT: Pre-orders are over! Check back later if you want a copy.

Petra

Journal, page 4 – Petra

Petra isn’t a major character, her name isn’t even mentioned, but there’s nothing worse when I’m trying to draw a page than getting hung up on random secondary characters. So, planning ahead saves strife in the long run.
Also, page is early! Just because. There’s a new Petra-related vote incentive as well.
