It’s been quiet around here lately, so I wanted to post a quick update to show how things are coming along. The next Roza chapter, “Roza and the Glass Tower,” is still in development. I’ve roughed out the entire story and I’m now working on the page-by-page script. The last two chapters I tried to limit to 36 pages max, but they ended up feeling rushed in parts. This time I’m less concerned with page count, and as a result this book will probably be twice as long, perhaps even split into two parts. The plan is still to complete this book in the same rough black and white format as I did for Roza and the Sunken Kingdom.

You’re going to see lots of new characters and locations, and I’ll begin showing some more of the concepts here. One of the first new characters in the next book is Terhi, although we don’t get to find out her name in the plot. Below are some rough concept sketches for her.

First, I want to thank my readers for your advice and support, you guys are awesome.
I’ve decided on how to proceed with Roza, in a way that I can keep producing new content regularly.
First, I’m going to put a hold on coloring chapter 4 pages. I’ll republish the rest of the rough pages so that the story is complete. Meanwhile, I’m rebooting the story outline and roughing out a new plot for chapter 5. When that’s ready, I’ll start posting chapter 5 pages in greyscale. The look of the characters may be a bit different in chapter 5, but don’t worry, the changes won’t be too drastic. Hopefully this will allow me to continue the story and still have free time to relax and enjoy other hobbies as well.

Hey folks, sorry for lack of updates.
It’s been a combination of vacations, fatigue and lack of interest. I managed to elude Hurricane Rina, but haven’t felt much motivation to continue the comic lately. I’d like to finish up this chapter, but I can’t promise regular updates. This isn’t a commercial endeavor, so I’m not going to grind out sub-par pages to meet a deadline. Well, if you’ve been reading for a while, you probably know my feelings on all that. I hope you will enjoy further Roza pages as they are posted whenever-ly.

You’re not crazy, you may have seen this before.

Unlike earlier chapters, for chapter 4 I tried a new process.

First, I wrote out the script and posted up here for my readers to peruse. Next, I sketched out the whole chapter in rough pages, which got posted weekly like a regular comic update. Then, I started from the beginning editing and coloring the rough pages. To keep the archive in order, all the rough pages were removed once color updates started to appear.

The rough pages are now getting posted in these updates for comparison with the color pages as they are finished.

Short version: Chapter 4 was posted already as rough pages, then taken down, and now only color pages are in the archive.
